Autumn Apple Crisp
We bought a ton of apples and peaches recently from out local packing plant.
9/10th of the box of apples were dried and the peaches were frozen.
I took the last few apples and decided to make an Apple Crisp.
I took instructions from a recipe I found online, mixed it with a peach crisp recipe and added a bit of my own bit to it!
2c Oats (I mixed in about 1/4 cup of almond cranberry granola to make the 2 cups)
2c Brown Sugar (this seemed to be quite a lot. I think I could be reduced down to 1 1/2 c or less.)
1/2c flour
1/3c milk or cream
1 Tbsp. Vanilla
3 Tbsp. flour
3 tsp. Sugar, brown or whatever you have
1 Tbsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Salt
1/2c softened butter
1/2 nuts or seeds (I used pumpkin seeds)
6c Apples
Oil, for casserole dish. I use coconut oil.
Preheat oven to 350*. Grease your 8x8 casserole dish.
Combine the oats, nuts, brown sugar, 1/2c flour, cinnamon, salt, and butter till you get a crumbly texture.
Take 1/3 of the this mixture and press into the bottom of your greased dish.
In a large bowl, toss your apples with the 3tbsp flour and 3 tbsp. sugar, and vanilla. Pour into your casserole dish evenly. Drizzle the milk over this.
Distribute the rest of the crumble evenly over the apples.
Bake uncovered for 40-50 min.
This turned out amazing!!
